Noise and Sound Level Services

Occupational and Community Noise Consulting Services

Located in Broward County, FL, Advanced Industrial Hygiene Serves, Inc. provides occupational and community noise consulting services. We use Cassella CEL Model 360 Noise Dosimeters capable of providing time-weighted average noise dose measurements in the employee hearing zone in compliance with the OSHA noise standard (29CFR1910.95). Community noise assessments are performed with a CEL-633 Integrating Octave Band Digital Sound Level Meter in conjunction with a CEL 6847 Environmental Case Kit. The CEL-633 satisfies the requirements of IEC 61762 Class 1 for precision sound level meters. It also meets the requirements of ISO 1996 and BS4142 for environmental noise measurement. The configuration of the monitoring system allows the following features:

• Simultaneous broadband and frequency measurement
• Data markers
• Real-time frequency analysis
• Single measurement range
• Triggered ‘event’ capture significant noise

Up to 60 hours of audio files can be stored that can be used for noisesource identification. Stored audio can be played back on the instrument using headphones or downloaded to Casella insight software. For unattended monitoring, event mode (CEL-633) allows trigger levels (dB) to be set, so additional data (e.g. Leq, Lmax) is stored together with the audio file for later analysis, as well as a profiles down to 10ms intervals. The environmental noise monitoring kit protects the instrument and microphone from the weather and allows unattended monitoring for up 10 days.
