Twin Peaks Software has achieved a major milestone of computing, the ability to write and update the file on two different file systems on a network

   * simultaneously

   * in real time

   * bidirectionally

   * at geographically remote locations

All file system and Operating System (OS) developed since the beginning of computing are based on a static, single-location information model, in which all information is stored and updated by a single computer system at a single location. To compensate for this fundamental shortcoming, existing High-Availability (HA), Disaster-Recovery (DR) and Backup systems use workarounds, even the best of which are somewhat inelegant and inefficient.

The Mirror File System(MFS, US patent no. 7418439) changes all this.

By updating files on two or more computer systems simultaneously, in real time, MFS enables a new, dynamic, multiple-location information model. Data can be stored and instantly updated on multiple systems at multiple locations, so that all files remain in sync with each other in real time.

The significance of this development for the OS, Online File Backup, DR, HA, Load Balancing, and Cloud Computing markets is difficult to overestimate.
