Economy
MFS file replication is economical. It needs to be installed only on the local system
(the remote system does not require it at all). One copy of MFS software keeps your
files up-to-date on two systems in real time, and the
replicated copies of your files are ready to use at any time.
Conventional storage replication systems, hardware or software, treat the remote
storage system as a spare tire. When you need it, you have to take it out from your
trunk, do the balancing (fsck) first, then mount it before you can see if your replicated
data is there. What a burden! With MFS, the remote system is not a spare tire, it
is already mounted and running.
