Sara Genn


Sara Genn was born in White Rock, British Columbia in 1972.  She attended York House School in Vancouver.  In June of 1994 she graduated with a BFA at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.  Sara is the daughter of the renowned Canadian Artist, Robert Genn.

Sara is working mainly in acrylics, but she also does oils, watercolors and serigraphs.  She is dedicated, developing, exploratory artist – her work is currently showing a whimsical interest in human relationships.  What she will do next is anyone’s guess.

Sara is also an accomplished independent musical artist.

Quivery-voiced Rhodes sprite Sara Genn creates a moving meditation with collaborators Keith Witty on double bass and Chris Eddleton on drums. Sara's music has been featured on the NBC drama "Lipstick Jungle", in The London Papers and in FLARE, and scored for independent film, for Honda and RW&Co.; Sara tours annually in Europe, including the Edinburgh Festival and has been featured on independent radio in NY, the UK and Switzerland, webcasted for the critically acclaimed Bedford in London and been included on compilations "Dean's List" (NY) and "Electroacoustic Club" (London). Sara is currently collaborating with French Hip Hop Producer Wax Tailor while also making preparations for her third album in three years.

Sara's second record "bedmusic" was recorded live in two days at Allaire Studios, a converted ecclesiastical retreat in upstate New York.

Sara Genn is also a visual artist, her work has been featured by Nissan Infiniti and in Tatler, New York Magazine, Town and Country, Canadian House and Home and Domino.
